A Large Number of Super Power Projects in China Unveiled, With an Investment of Up To 75 billion

In order to conserve resources and achieve the goal of green economy development, China has recently released heavy news that a large number of super projects will be unveiled one after another, with a total investment of up to 75 billion, that is to speed up the planning and construction of large-scale wind power photovoltaic bases. This is not only to promote China's clean energy development; the project will also drive the rapid development of the five provinces in the northwest.
With the development and progress of the times, people’s quality of life continues to improve, and the demand for resources is also increasing. However, the non-renewability of many resources makes human beings have to stop the pace of development and start looking for new alternatives. Resources and energy, so people set their sights on new energy such as wind, solar, and hydropower, and started preparations very early, hoping to meet human development while reducing environmental pollution and contributing to the sustainable development of human society.
For example, China has built many large hydropower projects, such as the Three Gorges Dam and Baihetan Hydropower Station, in order to make full use of the country’s abundant water resources. However, due to resource constraints, hydropower has a clear ceiling. The developable hydropower capacity is less than 700 million kilowatts, and the current installed hydropower capacity has reached 356 million kilowatts. It can be seen that the development space in the future is very limited.
Relatively speaking, wind energy and solar energy have greater development prospects. First, the cost is low. The initial investment of wind power generation equipment is much smaller than that of hydropower and photovoltaic power plants, and the cost has shown a downward trend year after year, for example, it has been reduced to 0.5 to 0.6 RMB per kWh which is already the full cost of wind power. Second, the environmental benefits of wind power photovoltaics are very prominent. It is a completely renewable and sustainable green energy. Third, it saves resources and uses wind and light energy. There is no raw material cost. For example, wind power generation can save 30,000 tons of standard coal and reduce about 90,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. Fourth, China has a vast territory with extremely rich wind and solar resources.
Therefore, in order to make full use of resources, China has decided to build a base and large-scale wind power photovoltaic base project. At present, the first batch of large-scale wind power photovoltaic base projects with an installed capacity of about 100 million kilowatts have started in order, and they are distributed in many provinces across the country. In the urban area, from the perspective of the projects that have started, Gansu has reached 12.85 million kilowatts with the largest scale. Qinghai plans to have a total installed capacity of 10.9 million kilowatts. These projects will further promote China's energy development.
Judging from the current global situation, energy shortage is still a realistic problem that may exist for a long time. For mankind, the most feasible energy revolution at this stage is to develop more clean energy. China takes the lead to accelerate the construction of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic bases, and combines wind power and photovoltaic bases with desert management to make full use of the desert land resources in the northwest region. When the project is completed, the coverage of desert vegetation in the five northwestern provinces is expected to increase from less than 3% to more than 60%, which will play an important role in promoting regional economic development and improving people’s quality of life.
